NUKU’ALOFA, Tonga — The Case Management Committee (CMC) held a community awareness programme at the Catholic Church in Kolonga on Friday, 28 August 2026, aimed at strengthening public awareness of child protection, family wellbeing, domestic violence prevention and support services available to vulnerable individuals and families.
The programme brought together key agencies and stakeholders, including Tonga Police, the Family Protection Legal Centre, the Tonga National Centre for Women and Children, the Women and Children Crisis Centre and other community partners.
The evening began with a community march through Kolonga before residents gathered for an awareness programme featuring presentations from representatives of participating organisations and community leaders.
The Royal Tonga Police Band also played an important role in the event, providing musical performances and role-playing activities designed to highlight important messages about family wellbeing, protection and the prevention of violence.
Tonga Police expressed its sincere appreciation to Family Free of Violence (FFOV) for its continued support, including assistance with refreshments and other contributions that helped ensure the successful delivery of the programme.
